Johann Sebastian Bach ： Prelude (Fantasia) c-moll BWV 921

A concise yet expressive prelude filled with the deep shading and tension of C minor. Sometimes referred to as a fantasia, it moves forward through the fluid motion of broken chords and changing harmonic colors. Rather than following clearly defined sections, the work is shaped by a succession of short units, making their connection an important point to hear. Performers should remain aware of the flow of each voice and keep the inner parts from being obscured, allowing the harmonic tension and release to emerge. Avoid rushing the tempo, give the decorative motion a clear sense of direction, and carefully bring out the peaks of each phrase.
