🇳🇴Edvard Grieg ： Moods No.4 Folk Song Op.73-4

Grieg’s “Moods” Op. 73, No. 4, “Folk Song,” is a piano miniature centered on a simple, approachable melody reminiscent of folk music, conveying a distinctly Nordic sense of stillness and warmth. Its concise musical ideas invite the listener to attend closely to the character of the melody and the changes in sonority. In performance, give priority to singing phrasing and keep the accompaniment understated so that the main melody remains clear. The flow of the beat should not become too rigid; carefully shaping the subtle dynamics and pauses within the music’s simplicity brings out its appeal. Use the pedal with restraint to avoid clouding the sound, and give this brief piece a natural sense of breath.
