🇺🇸William L. Gillock ： Lyric Preludes Silent Snowfall

“Silent Snowfall” is a delicate miniature that evokes a sense of quietness, gentle sparkle, and lyricism. Its subtle layers of sound suggest snow drifting through the air, while the exchange of short phrases carries the music forward in an unbroken flow. Rather than emphasizing a dramatic climax, the piece invites the listener to notice its finely graded dynamics and shifting resonance. The melody should be carefully brought out from the accompaniment, and the pedal used to preserve the lingering sound without allowing the texture to become blurred, creating a clear and translucent musical atmosphere.
