Ferruccio Busoni ： Andantino Piano Concerto No.9 (Mozart)

This work is Busoni’s arrangement for solo piano of the Andantino from Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 9. Centered on a calm, singing melody, it shapes the musical flow through a simple accompaniment and naturally breathing phrases. Rather than pushing the sound forward with excessive volume, the performer should bring out the exchange of melodic lines and changes in harmony with care. At the opening, maintain a transparent tone and a composed tempo, allowing each phrase to end with a natural resonance. Where the character changes, subtle control of dynamics and pedaling, without undue haste, brings out the delicate shading and refined Classical character. A key point is to keep the accompaniment light while allowing the melody to emerge softly.
