🇺🇸William L. Gillock ： Wonderful Skiers

This charming character piece depicts the joy and excitement of skiing down a snowy slope through lively rhythms and crisp, energetic motion. By listening for the exchange of short phrases and for similar musical figures appearing in varied forms, performers can evoke the impression of changes in direction and speed as the skiers glide along. In performance, it is important to maintain a bright, buoyant tone while shaping rhythmic breaks and accents precisely. Avoid rushing the tempo, sense the peaks of the phrases, and maintain a steady pulse within the music’s light, effortless character.
