🇷🇺Dmitri Borisovich Kabalevsky ： 24 Easy Pieces for Children No.12 Joke Op.39-12

Kabalevsky’s “Joke” is a lively piece from his collection for children, full of mischief and wit. Short phrases and crisp rhythms keep the music moving forward, while contrasts in dynamics and articulation create a humorous character. A key attraction is the way the changing moods can be presented as if they were turning rapidly, while maintaining the overall flow. In performance, the staccatos should not be made merely short; instead, aim for a light, springy quality. Place accents naturally without exaggerating them, keep the tempo steady, and give expression to the rests. These details will help create a playful and well-shaped performance.
