🇫🇷Gabriel Urbain Fauré ： Nocturne No.11 in fis-moll Op.104-1

This nocturne by the late Fauré brings together quiet introspection and a sense of tension. At the opening, a singing melody unfolds over a restrained accompaniment, but the register and sonority gradually expand, allowing the emotional waves to grow broader. The buildup in the central section and the process of regaining calm create dramatic contrast and delicate shades, while the tension leading toward the close is also striking. The melody should be allowed to sing fully, with careful attention to the inner voices and harmonic changes, while avoiding blurred sonorities through the pedal. Rather than exaggerating the dynamics abruptly, performers should use breathing phrases and subtle rubato to express the urgency concealed within the calm.
