🇫🇮Jean Sibelius ： Lyrical Meditations – Little Serenade Op.40-9

This concise piano miniature leaves an impression of quiet intimacy and a singing melody. Rather than being exaggerated, the melody unfolds in short phrases supported by the gentle movement of the inner voices and accompaniment. The transitions between sections are not abrupt; subtle changes in dynamics and harmony create the expressive character. In performance, the right-hand melody should be shaped with a soft, sustained tone, while the left hand remains restrained and balanced. Use the pedal carefully to avoid blurring the sonority, and allow a lingering resonance at the ends of phrases to bring out both the lyricism and the approachable charm of a little serenade.
