Dmitri Borisovich Kabalevsky ： 4 Rondos No.3 Rondo-Song Op.60

The third piece of Kabalevsky’s 4 Rondos, “Rondo-Song,” is a songful miniature built on rondo form, combining a recurring main theme with contrasting sections. The return of the theme gives the piece a sense of unity, while the changes in character and movement from one section to another provide much of its appeal. In performance, the main theme should be shaped with a natural, singing quality, with careful balance between melody and accompaniment.
