🇺🇸William L. Gillock ： Lyric Preludes Winter Scene

Winter Scene is a lyrical piano miniature that evokes crisp air and a quiet snow-covered landscape. Centered on a singing melody, movement in the accompaniment and harmonic changes support the shifting imagery, while a gentle sense of tension can be felt within its delicate sonorities. A key point is to shape the overall flow and identify the peaks of each phrase, using touch and pedal—not volume alone—to create a sense of depth. Let the melody resonate fully while keeping the accompaniment light and controlled; listening to the lingering sounds in quieter passages brings out the clear, transparent atmosphere of winter.
