🇫🇮Jean Sibelius ： 6 Pieces – Novellette Op.94-2

Included in Sibelius’s Six Pieces, “Novellette” is a concise character piece that reflects delicate emotional shifts and distinctive poetic feeling through its simple musical language. Within its brief span, changes in the character of the melody and harmony create varied impressions, balancing intimacy with a sense of tension. In the singing passages, performers should shape the phrases with a long breath, while keeping the accompaniment subdued and carefully controlled. Rather than relying on abrupt dynamic changes, use the pedal and variations in touch to create natural shading and bring out the work’s character.
