🇭🇺Franz Liszt ： Fantaisie sur La sonnambula S.393

This work takes beloved melodies from Bellini’s opera La sonnambula and transforms them into a brilliant fantasy for solo piano. Centered on the presentation of lyrical themes, it alternates delicate embellishment, agile passagework, and powerful chordal writing, bringing out both the opera’s lyricism and its theatrical tension. The exchange and development of the melodies are key points to hear in the structure, while the virtuosic passages still require a strong sense of song. In performance, the principal melodies should be brought clearly to the fore, with careful balance against the accompaniment. Flexible timing and vivid dynamic contrasts can further express the changing dramatic scenes.
