Franz Liszt ： Die Forelle (Schubert) S.564 R.248

This work is Liszt’s arrangement of Schubert’s song “Die Forelle” for solo piano. Centered on the familiar melody of the original, it layers flowing accompaniment figures and brilliant embellishments, bringing out both the expressive quality of the song and the virtuosity of the piano. A key attraction is the contrast between passages in which the melody appears lightly and more lyrical moments in which the sonority expands. In performance, it is important to keep the delicate figures smooth, like flowing water, while allowing the main melody to emerge clearly.
