🇪🇸Manuel de Falla ： Cubana

This character piece is marked by a lively dance rhythm and a supple, songful melody. Its finely articulated accompaniment features accents and subtle shifts between the beats, creating an elastic quality within a steady flow. As the music progresses, the character of the melody and accompaniment comes into contrast; understanding the piece as moving through changes of atmosphere before returning to the character of the opening can help shape the whole. In performance, the rhythm should not become mechanical, while its sense of pulse must remain clear. Bring the melody distinctly to the fore, keep the accompaniment light and flexible, and use the pedal with restraint so that the sound does not become blurred. This will bring out the music’s refined vitality.
