🇪🇸Enrique Granados ： Album de Melodias Paris 1888 – Mazurka in F Major

This early mazurka by Granados is included in Album de Melodias Paris 1888. Built on the dance character of the mazurka’s triple meter, it brings together a songlike melody and light, supple rhythms, revealing delicate expression beneath its approachable surface. Centered on the presentation of its main theme, the music moves toward contrasting passages shaped by changes in register and dynamics, before drawing to a conclusion that brings the whole piece into focus. In performance, it is important to preserve the flow of the meter, allow the melody to project fully, and avoid making the accompaniment too heavy. Rather than stressing accents mechanically, performers should attend to the dance’s flexible sway and natural breathing to convey the music’s appeal.
