🇪🇸Enrique Granados ： Album de Melodias Paris 1888 – In Maria de Alba’s Fan

This miniature from Album de Melodias Paris 1888 is shaped by the elegant, intimate atmosphere suggested by its title, with the singing quality of its melody providing a central point of interest. Rather than focusing on large-scale development, listeners can attend to the character of each short phrase and the way the musical line unfolds. In performance, the principal melody should be brought out carefully from the other voices, while the inner parts and accompaniment remain restrained. Identify the high points and endings of each phrase, and use natural rubato to give the music room to breathe without disturbing its flow. The pedal should support the resonance while avoiding blurring; changing it according to each passage’s character helps bring out the delicate nuances.
