🇷🇺Anatoly Konstantinovich Lyadov ： 3 Preludes in Es-Dur Op.27-1

This prelude condenses Lyadov’s delicate sense of color and lyrical melodic writing into a brief span. The music unfolds as the relationship between melody and accompaniment changes, while subtle harmonic shifts support its expressive character. A key point of interest is the way the overall flow is shaped, with careful attention to the peaks and pauses of each phrase. In performance, the inner voices should remain clear while the principal melody emerges naturally, and the pedal should connect the resonance without allowing it to become blurred. Maintaining a firm pulse beneath a gentle touch, and finely expressing the breathing and changes of tone in quieter passages, brings out the work’s intimate appeal.
