🇫🇷Claude Debussy ： 12 Etudes No.9 “Pour les notes répétées” L.136

This etude places repeated notes at the heart of its musical conception, exploring the tension and forward momentum generated by successive repetitions of the same pitch. Rather than remaining purely mechanical, it continually alters the character of its sound through changes of register, accents, and dynamics, creating an interplay of sharp energy and light humor. The music unfolds through shifting episodes within a concentrated progression, with the clarity of the repeated notes and the direction of the phrases forming central points of interest. In performance, evenness in the fingertips should be balanced with supple wrists and arms, avoiding excess tension while maintaining clear articulation. Careful organization of inner voices and accents, together with natural breathing and finely graded dynamics, helps project the changing shapes of the patterns in three dimensions.
