🇧🇷Heitor Villa-Lobos ： The Three Stars of Orion No.2

The Three Stars of Orion No.2 is a piano miniature from a collection by Heitor Villa-Lobos. Within its compact span, listeners can attend closely to the character of the melody, the resonance of the accompaniment, and changes in register and dynamics. A key point of interest is to grasp the overall flow while sensing shifts in atmosphere and the movement toward the conclusion. In performance, the melody should be brought clearly to the fore without allowing the inner voices or accompaniment to become too heavy. The pedal should sustain the resonance while avoiding muddiness, and a balance between subtle tempo flexibility and the nuance of each note helps bring out the work’s delicate character.
