🇩🇪Felix Mendelssohn ： Songs Without Words Book6 Spinning Song in C-Dur MWV U 182 Op.67-4

Suggesting a spinning wheel turning lightly and continuously, this “Spinning Song” gains its momentum from delicate, uninterrupted motion. A melody emerges above the flowing figuration, carrying the music forward as lively energy alternates with a songful character. A particular point of interest is the transition between passages that maintain the opening’s sense of motion and contrasting passages that allow for a feeling of breath. The right-hand figuration should remain even and relaxed, while the melody and inner voices in the left hand should be brought out clearly. Using the pedal without clouding the texture helps balance lightness with expressive lyricism.
