🇮🇹Domenico Scarlatti ： Sonata in G-Dur K.493 L.S24

This single-movement sonata, characteristic of Scarlatti, makes a vivid impression with its clear subject and lively motion. Based on a binary form, it develops material introduced in the first half during the second, and the overall flow becomes easier to grasp by listening to the shifts of tonality and the way the material returns. The many small notes should be articulated with clarity, while ornaments should be handled naturally without disturbing the rhythmic flow. Balance the volume between the hands and maintain a sense of phrase direction; restrained pedaling will help preserve a lucid sonority and bring out both the music’s agility and its lyricism.
