🇪🇸Enrique Granados ： Romantic Scenes Mazurka

Granados’s Mazurka from Romantic Scenes is a piano miniature that combines the rhythmic momentum of a dance in triple meter with the intimate quality of a singing melody. Within its light-footed rhythm, changes in phrase exchanges and harmony bring shifts of expression, allowing brilliance and gentle lyricism to intersect. Its appeal lies in bringing out the principal melody without allowing it to be buried in the accompaniment, while preserving the buoyancy of the dance. In performance, avoid making the left-hand beats too heavy, and use the placement of accents to create a natural sense of sway. Carefully distinguishing the character of each section and allowing ornamental notes to follow the melodic line will heighten its refined emotional appeal.
