🇪🇸Manuel de Falla ： Ritual Fire Dance for Two Pianos

This intense work is driven by repeated rhythms and sharp accents. Short motives overlap and increase the musical density, while contrasting phrases bring changes of color amid the heat and tension. In the two-piano version, the exchange between the two players and the expanded register create added power, bringing the crispness of the rhythms into sharper relief. In performance, it is important not to pursue speed alone, but to clarify the placement of accents and the tension of the rests, while varying the expression with each repetition. Even in loud passages, the sound should not become coarse; preserving the shape of the melody and the balance between the parts allows the dance-like vitality to emerge vividly.
