🇫🇷Joseph Maurice Ravel ： Rapsodie espagnole Prelude a la nuit

This prelude is marked by Ravel’s delicate sense of color, evoking the atmosphere of a quiet night. At the opening, repetitions of a short figure create a thin layer of sound, while melodic exchanges and harmonic changes between the two pianos allow the music to sway gently. A notable feature is the way the music grows in intensity toward the middle before seeming to recede and gradually settle. Performers should avoid making each note too heavy, keep the resonance clear through careful pedaling, and bring the melody out from within the inner voices to preserve the work’s stillness and transparency.
