Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart ： Prelude and Fugue in C-Dur K.394 (K6.383a)

This work consists of two contrasting sections, a Prelude and a Fugue: the freely rhetorical Prelude leads into a Fugue in which the subject is passed from one voice to another and developed. In the Prelude, it is important not to hurry the flow, while carefully shaping phrase divisions and harmonic changes. In the Fugue, keep each voice clear, make the entrances of the subject audible, and maintain a steady pulse and balanced dynamics throughout. Restrained use of the pedal, together with distinct articulation and natural dialogue between the voices, brings out the interest of the structure.
