Johann Sebastian Bach : Partita No.3 for Solo Violin (Harpsichord Arrangement) BWV 1006

Type:Suite Key: E-Dur Duration:19:30

Post Share

This is a suite in E major, arranged for harpsichord from J.S. Bach’s work for solo violin. It begins with a Prelude and continues with a Loure, a Gavotte in rondeau form, two Minuets, a Bourrée, and a Gigue. In the opening Prelude, finely detailed, continuous motion unfolds with brilliance, while the contrasting meters and characters of the dances stand out in the subsequent movements. On the piano, it is important to keep the flow of sound clear, organize the overlapping voices, and bring out each dance’s rhythmic character and light forward momentum. Ornamentation should be shaped naturally without disturbing the overall breathing, allowing the work’s poise and vitality to emerge.
