🇩🇪Robert Schumann ： Introduction and Allegro appassionato in G-Dur Op.92

Written for piano and orchestra, this concertante work consists of a single movement comprising an introduction and an allegro. In the introduction, a singing piano melody intertwines with orchestral responses, while the succeeding allegro is driven forward by propulsive rhythms and powerful thematic material. A particular highlight is the soloist’s ability to display brilliant technique while continually changing expression through dialogue with the orchestra. In performance, it is important to shape the breathing of the introduction and follow its harmonic changes carefully. In the allegro, momentum should not obscure a clear pulse and the movement of the inner voices. The performance calls for broadly drawn dynamic contrasts without losing the lyrical quality of the melodies.
