🇺🇸William L. Gillock ： Gillock’s Holidays Yo-Yo Trick

A light-hearted and approachable miniature with a playful character. The music unfolds through a succession of short phrases, while its buoyant rhythm and crisp movements create a sense of fun reminiscent of a yo-yo. Listening closely to the shape of each phrase and the way the musical ideas pass from one part to another brings the overall flow into clearer relief. In performance, keep the beat steady rather than simply relying on speed, and carefully bring out the lightness of the staccatos and the effect of the accents. Keep the wrists and arms relaxed, balance the volume between the hands, and enjoy the bright, nimble character.
