🇭🇺Bartók Béla Viktor János ： For Children Revised Edition Vol.1 No.35 Con moto BB 53 Sz 42

No. 35 from Volume 1 of Bartók’s For Children (Revised Edition) is a miniature whose concise melody and clear rhythm create a strong sense of forward motion. The music unfolds from short phrases, with repetitions and variations of its material forming a structure that is easy to follow by ear. As indicated by the title, it is important to keep the flow moving lightly and continuously. A precise sense of the beat, together with even note lengths and rests, will clarify the musical outline. Avoid making the melody too hard-edged, and, where accompaniment or inner voices are present, keep them quieter so that their roles remain distinct. Even within this short piece, attention to the direction of each phrase and to its sense of cadence will result in a natural and lively performance.
