🇪🇸Enrique Granados ： Far From You

Granados’s “Far From You” is a work that conveys the sense of distance and wistfulness suggested by its title through a singing style of piano writing. By bringing out the melody carefully and listening closely to the resonance of the accompaniment and the shifting harmonies, the subtle changes in mood can be revealed. Performers should shape the overall flow broadly while remaining attentive to the peaks of each phrase and the lingering resonance that follows. Rather than changing dynamics mechanically, use pedaling that keeps overlapping sounds clear and aim for a long, seamless legato to bring out the work’s appeal. Connecting the contrasting expressions of each section naturally helps highlight its sense of distance and lyricism.
