🇫🇷Jacques Ibert ： Encounters Shepherd Girls

“Shepherd Girls,” a miniature from Ibert’s collection Encounters, portrays the simple, lively scene suggested by its title through concise piano writing. Its appeal lies in listening to the expressive melody and the light movement of the accompaniment, while naturally connecting the changes between its short phrases. In performance, it is important to maintain rhythmic momentum without making the sound too heavy, allowing the melody to emerge clearly. Carefully shaped nuances can bring out the refined colors hidden within its approachable character.
