🇩🇪Franz Joseph Haydn ： Double Concerto for Keyboard and Violin in F-Dur Hob.XVIII:6

This concerto is distinguished by the equal roles of the keyboard instrument and violin, with engaging exchanges between the soloists and a well-integrated ensemble sound. It is laid out in three movements: the outer movements are driven by clear rhythms and lively dialogue, while the middle movement reveals a gentler character through the passing of melodic lines. Rather than merely displaying brilliance, the keyboard part plays an important role in receiving the violin’s melodies and at times taking the lead. Keeping the sound even, treating ornaments lightly, and balancing the soloists with the ensemble bring out the transparency and conversational charm of the Classical style. Distinguishing the character of each movement and carefully shaping the ends of phrases are also central to the work’s appeal.
