🇷🇺Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky ： Children’s Album Old French Song in g-moll Op.39-16

This approachable miniature features a simple, songlike melody supported by a restrained accompaniment. The music unfolds through the natural exchange of short phrases, while changes in register and sonority briefly shift its character. Rather than aiming for grand effects, its appeal lies in conveying the breath of the song with care. In performance, bring the right-hand melody clearly above the accompaniment, shaping each phrase with attention to its peak and ending while maintaining a smooth legato. Even within a restrained dynamic range, introduce subtle changes in volume, and use the pedal sparingly so that the sound remains clear and the quiet sentiment and beauty of the melody come to the fore.
