🇷🇺Dmitri Borisovich Kabalevsky ： 24 Easy Pieces for Children No.1 Little Song Op.39-1

The opening piece of Kabalevsky’s 24 Easy Pieces for Children, this is a concise and approachable miniature. As its title suggests, it centers on a song-like melody and creates a simple, gentle musical flow. Within its brief span, the roles of melody and accompaniment are easy to perceive, making it useful for learning to shape phrases and listen to the balance between voices. In performance, the melody should be connected with a natural legato, while the accompaniment remains unobtrusive and the beginnings and endings of phrases are carefully defined. Rather than making the dynamic changes excessive, aim for a soft, breathing expression so that the piece’s modest lyrical character can come to life.
