🇫🇮Jean Sibelius ： 10 Pieces – Fisherman’s Song Op.58-8

“Fisherman’s Song,” from Sibelius’s 10 Pieces, is a concise piano miniature that concentrates a songful character within a compact form. Its melody has a natural, familiar flow, while the exchange between melody and accompaniment shapes a quiet sense of motion. One of its attractions is the way the melodic line is carefully sustained through the ends of phrases without disturbing the overall character. In performance, keep the inner voices and accompaniment restrained, while paying close attention to the direction and natural breathing of each phrase. Use the pedal carefully in accordance with the harmonic changes so that the sound remains clear and its simple, delicate afterglow can emerge.
