🇫🇮Jean Sibelius ： 10 Bagatelles – Reverie Op.34-6

Sibelius’s “Reverie” condenses quiet poetry and an introspective atmosphere into a brief character piece. The melody unfolds in a gentle, song-like manner, while soft accompanying motion supports its lingering resonance. Rather than emphasizing large contrasts, the music sustains a dreamlike impression through the layering of sounds and the subtle transitions between phrases. In performance, it is important to bring the melody carefully to the foreground and keep the resonance clear by avoiding an overly blurred pedal. Maintaining a natural breath without hurrying, and listening closely to the delicate dynamic changes and harmonic shifts, allows the understated beauty beneath the surface to emerge. Within its concise structure, each phrase ending should be shaped with care, so that the lingering sound can be fully savored.
