This work depicts the presence of wind and a song-like melody through delicate piano sonorities. The flowing melody has a natural sense of breath, while the undulation and layering of the accompaniment suggest the movement of the wind behind it. A key point of interest is to distinguish the roles of melody and accompaniment carefully while shaping the piece as one broad musical flow. In performance, the melody should be sung softly and with sustained breath; phrase endings should not be closed off abruptly, and subtle dynamics and pedaling should be used to preserve a transparent sonority.
