🇮🇹Domenico Scarlatti ： Sonata in Es-Dur K.370 L.316

Crisp rhythms and clear exchanges between musical phrases give this sonata a light, forward-moving energy. Built on a two-part form, it develops short motifs through transformation, while changes of register and harmony create a sense of contrast and movement. In the repeats, avoid reproducing the same material mechanically; paying attention to the differences in character and tension between the first and second sections makes the structure easier to hear. In performance, keep the right-hand ornaments and quick passages clear and even, while maintaining a light left hand without losing the spring of the beat. Small breaths at phrase endings, a generally unweighted touch, and a conversational sense of response help bring out the work’s appeal.
