🇮🇹Domenico Scarlatti ： Sonata in C-Dur K.86 L.403

Scarlatti’s Sonata in C major, K.86 L.403, is a work of bright, refined sonority and lively motion within a concise design. Its well-balanced flow unfolds through contrasting opening and closing sections, with the roles of melody and accompaniment shifting as the music progresses. The exchange between the voices and the changes in harmony are among its highlights, while the ornaments are most effective when used to support the expressive shape of the melody. In performance, it is important to maintain clear articulation and evenness of touch while carefully shaping the direction of each phrase and the resonance of the cadences. Alongside its lightness, an awareness of the singing quality of each voice brings out the work’s character.
