🇫🇷Déodat de Séverac ： Holidays From Book 2 The Doves’ Basin

This miniature conveys a quiet poetic mood and an unpretentious warmth, evoking the presence of doves gathering at a basin. Within its transparent sonority, delicate exchanges between melody and accompaniment emerge, while subtle movement adds color to the tranquil atmosphere. Rather than emphasizing sharp contrasts, its charm lies in allowing a single scene to unfold and change naturally. The melody should be sung softly, with the inner voices and accompaniment kept discreet; the pedal is best used only as far as it does not cloud the resonance. Avoid making the meter too rigid, and shape the phrases with natural breathing to bring out the expression within the stillness.
